What is that noise?

All of a sudden my parents left me and came back with this thing that makes strange noises! I have now grown to love it. My parents call it a baby and I think it looks like a miniature model of my Dad. Here's my reaction to the change in my life:





On Tuesday, September 14, 2010 Breckyn Marie Sauerberg. She was 6 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long. Since both my Mom and Breckyn were so healthy they were able to come home the very next day! My parents contribute it to the fact that my mom didn't receive any medication while delivering Breckyn, but I know the real reason they came home so soon is because they missed me too much.

The first month was a busy but a very fun. My dad was able to spend a whole week at home with all of us girls. He worked really hard taking care of everyone. On Breckyn's 1 week birthday my parents took her up to Pouder Canyon outside of Fort Collins to see the changing fall colors. They love to see the Aspen leaves change color.

The next week Grandpa Schnormeier, Great Grandma Jenness, and Sheri came out to visit. My mom took them and Breckyn to Rocky Mountain National Park and walked around in Estes Park.

Our excitement continued with Grandpa & Grandma Sauerberg visiting. My parents took them up to Breckenridge to see the fall colors and also took Breckyn to the Denver Zoo. They said there were a lot of baby animals at the zoo. There was a baby gorilla, a baby seal, four baby cheetahs, and a baby giraffe to name a few!

Breckyn slept on most adventures - now that's MY kind of baby! I think we might get along well!

We then welcomed cousin Lacee and her friend Lacey. The girls enjoyed some sight seeing while they were here and even mastered using the lightrail to get themselves downtown while my Mom, Breckyn, and I rested. On one day my parents took them to Manitou Springs, outside of Colorado Springs and the girls traveled up to the top of Pikes Peak while my parents relaxed walking around the town with Breckyn.

The following week Uncle Shawn visited with Katy, Mollie, and their foreign exchange student Anica. My parents took them to the Downtown Aquarium and also down to Manitou Springs. Mollie got to "babysit" Baby Breckyn while Shawn, Katy, and Anica also took the Cog railroad to the top of Pike's Peak. It was a great weekend for everyone!

Last, Grandpa and Grandma Sauerberg were able to join us all for Thanksgiving too! They stayed at home with us while my parents worked a few days before Thanksgiving and we all had so much fun!

Breckyn is growing so quickly! It is hard to remember how small she was when she was born. She went in for her 2 month check up and was 11 pounds and 23 inches long! She is such a happy smiley baby. She sleeps well, eats well, and loves to cuddle. She has been such a blessing for our family. Whenever anyone asks my Mom how she's doing she simply says, "she's perfect," and I couldn't agree more.

Month 1 Highlights

I went home at 23 hours old!

I like sucking on my left hand. I am not sure how it gets into my mouth, but I sure like it when it happens because I don't like pacifiers!

Week 1: Daddy got to spend the entire first week with me at home. Day 3 took a walk in Cherry Creek State Park. Eating, sleeping, and pooping very well!

Week 2: Visited Pouder Canyon with my parent to see the changing Aspen leaves. I got my picture taken under the Sleeping Elephant rock formation.

Week 3: Grandpa Schnormeier, Great Grandma Jenness, & Sheri visited. We went to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park to enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Grandpa & Grandma Sauerberg also visited and we went to the Denver Zoo! There were a lot of new babies there. There was a baby seal, baby gorilla, baby cheetah, and a baby giraffe! We also went to Breckenridge to see the fall colors.

Week 4: I smiled at my mommy for the first time!

Cousin Lacee and her friend Lacey visited. We went to Manitou Springs and the Denver Zoo again.

Week 5: Uncle Shawn, Katy, Mollie, & Anica visited! We went to the Downtown Aquarium and Manitou Springs. I got to spend a day with Mollie while Uncle Shawn, Katy, & Anica took a cog railway to the top of Pike's Peak!

Week 6: My Dad gave me my first bottle and I liked it!

I imitated my Mom sticking her tongue out!

First play date with friends Ella, Mia, Isabella, Catherine, Adam & Audrey. I slept the whole time.

Week 7: Visited Mom's school for the first time as she got ready to go back to work.

I now have a bit of control of my left hand, which I love sucking on!

Week 8: First day at home with Daddy all day while Mom when to work. The next day, I went to "school" at Ms. Robin's house. It was a hard day for Dad & Mom but I had FUN!

Month 3 Highlights

Memorable Moments: Smiley Happy Baby, who now laughs and holds her head up!

Week 9: Grandpa & Grandma Sauerberg visited for Thanksgiving. I got to spend a whole day with them while my Dad and Mom went to work!

Week 10: I held up my head without bobbling!

Week 11: We celebrated my Mommy's birthday.

Week 12: I laughed out loud at my silly Daddy!

Girlfriend's Baby Shower

My Girlfriends here in Colorado threw me a baby shower and my sister was able to share in the celebration. Here are a few pictures from the very fun day! Thanks girls!

Beautiful day for a Bike Ride

My parents decided to take baby for a bike ride along the South Platte River. Afterward they enjoyed a snack along the river, as you can see below, it was beautiful! Yes, my Mom can still bike as long as she doesn't push herself too much, drinks enough water, and until her belly gets too big!

Baby bump 30 weeks!!

At this point the baby is approximately 3 pounds and 15 inches long! It is hard to believe we only have 10 more weeks left, but during that time the baby will grow between 4-6 inches and will gain about 5 pounds - give or take a few inches and pounds. The baby is about the size of a head of cabbage.

Right now the baby has plenty of room to make big movements laying with its head up, head down, as well as laying side to side. We can see the kicks on the outside, although we can't quite make out what body parts we are seeing. The baby is most active after meal time - at any point during the day and has been more active now that Mom has been relaxing on summer vacation. The baby can't quite reach Mom's ribs, but sure tries to kick them - especially when she bends over. The baby likes to kick anything that is on top of her tummy - unless it is Dad's hand! All and all, we are all doing well and are very excited to see what the next 10 weeks brings.

Fun in the Sun!

If you look really closely you will see me relaxing on one patio chair, while my dad soaks up some rays on the other. One of our favorite summertime activities is to spend about 10 minutes outside enjoying the warm weather. I like to find shady spots, but today I enjoyed a nice nap in the warm sun. Usually my mom water's her plants during this time - which are doing really well thanks to my help fertilizing her flower pots! I love all of the new places I can hide.

Baby bump 27 weeks - a little bigger!

Iowa Baby Shower

We were so blessed to spend such a special weekend with our family and friends to celebrate our baby! Vilia hosted an incredible event for us and we left feeling so loved. Here are a few of the pictures of the day.

My friends at Meadow Point Elementary threw me a very gracious baby shower. Here are a few pictures of the fun event. I was so touched that nearly 50 past and present teaching friends joined in our celebration!

Baby bump 24 weeks

Spring Planting?!?

Mother's Day typically marks the end of the final frost in Colorado. However, this wasn't the case this year. We received SNOW and rain last week! So, my mom has yet to start planting her flowers and vegetables for this season...so I decided to help her...by fertilizing her flower pot!

She didn't really think this was funny, but my dad did!

Here's the BABY!!!

We FINALLY got to see our little one! We were amazed at all of the pictures that were taken to gather information about every measurement possible! The doctor said everything looks normal and right on target. Here are our three favorite pictures.

During this picture, the baby was moving it's fingers as if it was waving at us! It was adorable!

Little feet!

Here's a look at the baby's face. If you look closely you can see the arm just below the face. The lady doing the ultrasound had a tough time getting this shot because the baby was hiding behind it's hands.

Happy Birthday Ted!

My Dad started his birthday with a little tiramisu and his birthday presents. I gave him the biggest gift, well, it's from me and the baby apparently - now I have to share my gift giving too!

Marking my territory and claiming the PS3 as mine! Now, if only I had thumbs I might be able to learn to play a few games...

My dad and I spent some quality time together reading a magazine about cars...

...and looking them up online.

Here's my mom's baby bump at 15 weeks!

It's really hard to tell, but this is the first moment that it sort of looks like there is a baby in there...just wait!

We sure admire that Woita family! Josh and Tina visited on their way out to Utah and back. They hiked and camped for an entire week in the mountains! This is my parents with them after their week in the mountains - they sure look great, huh?!

I really like Tina....I am still getting to know Josh only hissing at him a few times.

The Crib & Dresser Arrived!

Only five days after my parent's ordered the baby's crib and dresser - it arrived - in a billion different pieces that my dad had to put together. I don't understand all of this fuss - can't a baby just sleep in a nice cozy bed behind the plants like I do...seriously - a room all to him/herself! I have been in this family longer and I don't have my own room. I am not sure I like where this is going!

So, I decided to stay in my very own space and revolt.

Snowshoeing in the Rocky Mountains!

My parents took advantage of my Dad's day off and went into the mountains for some snowshoeing. That day they hiked for about 5 miles or so and thoroughly enjoyed the mountain scene in the middle of their hike!

This picture shows how deep the snow was. Usually STOP signs are taller than my Dad!
