Merry Christmas!

On Saturday the Schnormeier clan celebrated Christmas! From left to right: Jacob (with his new hair cut), Jessica holding Maddy, Shawn holding Mollie, Katy, Julie and Grandpa Schnormeier. My mom said the food was excellent, but the best was watching the girls open gifts. She estimates the gifts were all open in about 15 minutes! The girls were very excited for their presents - especially the remote control car (for Maddy) and the foam shot gun (for Katy) that Grandpa Schnormeier bought them! Maybe this is a clue that he is ready for a grandson, but the jury is still out for who will bring the first baby boy into the family. We are so blessed with all 3 girls! According to my mom and dad - they have their hands full with me right now. I am pretty demanding and not ready to share any attention!

Great Grandma J, Lacee, and Adam (Lacee's boyfriend) joined the celebration that afternoon. Unfortunately the visit was cut a bit short because the weather was predicted to get worse as the night progressed. Grandpa Schnormeier also left a bit early to beat the weather. Everyone returned home safely, but the party continued with my mom and her siblings!

The 'kids' stayed to play "Battle of the Sexes," watch sports, talk and they even ate pizza for supper! This was one of my mom's favorite times of her visit. This was the first time all of the kids were together and in total control of the house they grew up in! It sounded like a very special time.

My mom was even able to spend some quality time with her mom earlier in the week. They had fun babysitting Maddy together while Jessica and David went to work. That night the girls all celebrated Maddy, my mom and grandma's birthday! Overall this was the best trip to Iowa in a very long time!

Now my parents and I look forward to having my Grandma and Grandpa Sauerberg join us on Saturday for Christmas and New Year's celebrations. We can't wait to continue the fun!
