My parents enjoyed a quick visit to Dallas to see their good friends Zach & Alison and to meet Baby Reece! My parents had a great time and were excited to tell the Johnson family of our big secret! Lucky for Reece, the next time they all get together he may have someone to play with because I am not quite a fan of little people that look me straight in the eye.

Triple Baptism!
January brought with it an extra special event in our family! My Uncle Shawn, and cousins Katy and Mollie were all three baptized on the same day! It was a wonderful time for everyone! My Grandma and Grandpa Sauerberg were also able to make it. My parents LOVED being surrounded by their entire family!

Shawn's sponsor for his baptism was Bob Gibson, long time neighbor and friend of the Schnormeier family. Shawn's brother in law Will and his wife Jess were Katy and Mollie's sponsors.
Uncle Ted tried to join the band, but the girls didn't really know what to think about a boy in their girl band!

Katy was not very excited to be in the picture.
The weekend was a success! Although there was a lot of snow already on the ground, the weather cooperated and the entire weekend was one of the best family weekends in a very very long time! Thank you to Shawn and Jen for letting us stay with you.

After the baptism, the girls changed clothes and started a Rock Band.

Bronco's Game in December - NO COATS!
My parents celebrated Carisa's 31st birthday at the Denver Bronco game on December 20th. The Bronco's played the Raider's and were hoping a win would get them into the play-offs. Unfortunately they lost, but my parents enjoyed a great time with great friends, and amazing seats - they could even smell the grass on the field from where they sat!

Julie A. Sauerberg, Ed.S.
After two and a half years, my mom finished her Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. Here she is at graduation. She was actually the ONLY person who received the Specialist degree that night, which made her nervous. She walked inbetween those getting their Master Degrees and those getting their PhDs. The announcer even emphasized my mom's name for an extra effect since she stood alone. We were hoping this celebration would have been a huge family event with my Grandpa and Grandma Sauerberg, Grandpa Schnormeier, and his friend Sherry planning to join us - but Mother Nature had other plans. She dropped a lot of snow and a blizzard on Iowa just before the weekend. We knew everyone was there in spirit.

Happy 3rd Anniversary
This year my parent's celebrated their 3rd Anniversary at the Highland Haven in Evergreen, Colorado. This is a very special place to the Sauerberg family. My dad's entire family and many wonderful friends enjoy their stay here while visiting for their wedding, and my parent's also relaxed after the wedding on their mini-moon. This time they spent their time in the Blue Spruce room. What was even more special was that it snowed a few days before my parents visit, which they felt was fitting because it snowed a few days before their wedding too.

Happy Birthday Ella!
My parents enjoyed having their close friend's Dylan and Carisa over for dinner. Lucky for me, they also brought Ella and Mia. They are really good with me, and don't try to play dress up with me...yet. Anyway, they enjoyed a great dinner and surprised Ella with a birthday celebration. Ella was born just one week before my parent's got married. Dylan and Carisa were going to be in the wedding, but Ella blessed us right at the same time!

Uncle Rick would be PROUD!
Apparently shocks and struts need to be replaced on cars every now and again. Well, my dad enjoys challenges so he decided to research how to do this himself. Although this job scared my mom because it was explained to be a potentially dangerous job, my dad's attention to detail made this job seem as easy as changing the oil!

Home Improvements
After nearly 8 years in our house, my parents finally decided to paint our white walls with color. The chose a palate of three shades of olive green. The main is the color my dad is painting while standing on the ladder. This dark olive is only on this accent wall as well as in the half bathroom. Afterward my parents asked themselves why they waited so long! My mom says it makes the house feel cozy - I have never had a problem finding cozy places in our house, so I don't quite know what she is talking about.
